Yes, we are alive. I know there has not been much activity on this website, but if there is nothing to write about, then it is clear. PHDM is not involved in any sort of “organised” racing activities, no leagues etc. mainly due to time constraints of the drivers. But that is not the point. The point is, that the whole PHDM would like to wish everyone a nice Christmas and a happy New Year!

It has been a long time since the last post here, so some might wonder what is happening with PHDM? And the answer is - nothing
. PHDM team members are right now not involved in any “regular” racing activities. This is probably due to a burnout from the last year, when the whole team needed a break. So the team is looking for some fresh challenge. Apart from that, Tomas has been spotted working on his STCC license, but further than that we cannot say more.

The beginning of the new GPChampionship season 2006.2 is getting closer and closer, which means teams are finalising their preparation for the first race. Everything has to be in place, the management, drivers, budget, and naturally, the car. And today, PHDM took away the wraps from their F2000 livery.

And so yet again we reached the end of another VRL season. This time, the final race was an endurance event on Aston GT configuration. Unfortunatelly for all the PHDM fans out there, PHDM did not have an official entry in this race due to unforeseen circumstances, but PHDM regular Tomas Podprocky was able to team up with Thomas Stockmans, a familiar face from last VRL season. Together they formed the team called “TnT”.

The race in Fern Bay was again very different than the rest of the VRL season, because it was a rallycross. It is clear that PHDM is no big fun of rallycross races, but in spite of that, they fielded one car for the race, XR GT driven by Tomas. It looked as though the small, front wheel driven GTi’s had the advantage on this track, but neverthless, PHDM sticked to their original plan.

After Westhill it was time to move to South City. The twisty street circuit is already the classic venue on the VRL calendar. In South City, everybody wants to be present and the teams spend that extra money to provide state of the art paddock facilities. PHD Motorsports was no exception as they had all they sponsors visiting this event.

After the summer break, which was indeed very important for the team, PHDM was back in Westhill for the race with FO8’s. As with the last race in which PHDM participated, two cars were entered for this race, driven by Tomas and Wim. As the FO8 is a no brainer single seater, the race sure promised a lot of action.

All the VRL teams were treated with a shock therapy, as after the mighty long Kyoto, this race was held on the shortest configuration of Aston - Club. Now, to the uninvolved spectator, the track might not have looked short, as the laptimes hovered above 1 minute, but closer look would reveal, that the cars driving on the track are UF1000s! Everybody thought “ok guys, let’s just get on with it, the sooner we put this race behind us, the better”. But, to paraphrase the quote from a famous TV car show - “You know that guy, just before the WWII, getting off the plane and waving with a piece of paper” - he was probably as wrong as the thought above.
